Lead Hand / Licensed 310J Trailer Technician - Mississauga, ON


GoRight Smart Fleet Solutions has an immediate opening for a Lead Hand/Licensed 310J Trailer Technician to take the lead at our Mississauga, ON – Cardiff location. You will report to the Service Manager or designate working Monday to Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a hands-on role, requiring a steady yet guiding hand for a diverse and dedicated team of trailer mechanics and apprentices. The ideal Lead Hand, working along side licensed mechanics and apprentices, will have at least five (5) years of professional mechanical experience with an active journeyman certificate and trailer shunting experience. While guiding the team, the individual in this role will be vigilant, maintain order and inspect all jobs.

With your leadership skills, you will educate and mentor licensed and apprentice technicians on safe operating procedures, workplace safety and ensure your teams performance is up to standards while increasing capacity and improving productivity. It is the role of the Lead Hand to ensure their team is the best they can be, and the shop runs as smoothly as possible; work orders are correct and completed on time, technicians and apprentices know their craft and remain engaged. Your high energy and knowledge of trailer maintenance and repair allow you to mentor and bring out the best in your team..

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Contributing to the maintenance of a clean and safe facility, following company safety policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
  • Supervise work performed to ensure targets are met with consistent high quality work, by providing clear and complete instructions, and follow up, to technicians
  • As a working lead hand, must have the ability and willingness to perform all the responsibilities of a Trailer Technician
  • Train and assist service technicians and other team members, provide feedback and create development plan for each technician
  • Check new trailers on arrival and inspect completed trailers before releasing
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of all shop tools and equipment
  • Contributing to Continuous Improvement by following the processes already identified and using A3’s to collect data and provide additional recommendations
  • Ensure computer work and documentation is detailed, accurate and completed on time
  • Attending company-sponsored training as required
  • Fostering communication and a supportive team network with co-workers, managers and customer
  • Other various duties as required

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A cooperative team player attitude with a positive work ethic
  • Licensed 310J Technician, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience including supervision of staff
  • General project management skills
  • Experience operating hand and air tools
  • Ability to lift heavy parts up to 80 lbs
  • Ability to work in all weather extremes both inside and outside
  • Experience with shunting trailers as required
  • Knowledge of transportation industry and regulations
  • Strong and effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Good computer skills

    Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician - Mississauga, ON


    GoRight has immediate openings for licensed Truck & Coach Technicians for our Mississauga facility for both the day and afternoon shift.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Service Manager, you are an integral member of GoRight’s Service team. As part of your duties, you will perform maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers and tankers, diagnose and troubleshoot defects and perform top quality work in a safe manner.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Following GoRight’s standard work order process and procedures ensuring detailed, accurate and timely records
    • Repair and maintain customer equipment
    • Diagnose faults or malfunctions of equipment
    • Complete timely and quality repairs resulting in customer satisfaction
    • Perform work with safety as a priority and adhering to all safety policies and standards
    • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe facility
    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 310T License or 3rd/4th year apprentice considered
    • Minimum two year’s experience with welding
    • Experience with tank trailers would be an asset
    • Commitment to personal safety and safety of coworkers
    • Good written and oral communication
    • Valid provincial driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
    • A cooperative team player attitude with a positive work ethic
    • Willing to work in all weather extremes both inside and outside
    • Good manual dexterity and ability to perform heavy work

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Service Manager, you are an integral member of GoRight’s Service team. As part of your duties, you will perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on equipment, diagnose and troubleshoot defects in equipment and perform top quality work in a safe manner.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Following GoRight’s standard work order process and procedures ensuring detailed, accurate and timely records
    • Repair and maintain customer equipment
    • Diagnose faults or malfunctions of equipment
    • Complete timely and quality repairs resulting in customer satisfaction
    • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe facility

    Requirements

    • Red Seal and/or Provincial License/Trade Certification (Apprentices considered)
    • Minimum of 2 years related work experience
    • Good written and oral communication
    • Valid provincial driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract

    • Willing to work in all weather extremes both inside and outside
    • Good manual dexterity and ability to perform heavy work
